After we’d received the European Commission award for best European Social Innovation in 2018, our main goal became the implementation of the concept of HeritageLab, an entrepreneurial incubator for young people in the field of cultural heritage. We are pleased that recently the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia has identified the importance of our activities. We’ve received a grant to employ one person for full-time work.
This is a major success, as it represents an important step towards the greater professionalization of the association and more systematic and quality work on the planned activities. Matevž Šlabnik, our first full-time employee, has already been involved in many activities, led by ID20 and Idrija 2020.
In addition to launching the HeritageLab project, we want to increase the presence of Idrija youth organizations in the media and on social networks, thereby reaching a broader circle of young people, while reviving the high-profile TBI magazine, which was originally published in the years 2012-2016. We will also continue to organize free architectural consultations, very well accepted in the past by the local population. Together with our partners, we will also actively foster strategic issues and create a strategy for the Youth of Idrija 2020 – 2025 in the municipality of Idrija, while considering the continued development of the Youth Centre in Idrija.
