Direction: Cultural Heritage (2025-2027)

The Smer: Cultural Heritage project addresses the challenges faced by non-governmental organizations in the field of cultural heritage and promotes their professionalization, cooperation, and broader recognition. The consortium, consisting of Zavod Dobra pot, Zavod ID20, KID KIBLA, Zavod Sopotniki, and Muzej norosti, Trate, continues the successful story of the Digital Heritage Incubator and expands the range of activities to strengthen the sector.

The project was approved under the public call for the development and professionalization of NGOs and volunteering 2024 at the Ministry of Public Administration and establishes 5 new jobs that will contribute to the development of partner organizations and enable the expansion of heritage activities at the national level.

Over a 27-month period, the project will establish more sustainable connections between organizations, upgrade existing programs, and develop new approaches for coordinated action, as well as create national initiatives in the areas of accessibility, mobility, and sustainability of heritage NGOs.

Key activities include upgrading the Duri heritage platform, a series of webinars, interviews, and podcasts with domestic and foreign experts, a survey on the public’s attitude towards heritage, and the organization of expert consultations and a bazaar of best practices. Special emphasis will be placed on connecting stakeholders and introducing innovations, such as the development of an AI assistant to support NGOs and researching modern fundraising approaches.

The project aims to put heritage at the center of social progress, as its potential remains underutilized in practice. By connecting various stakeholders, he will enhance the visibility of NGOs, improve the sector’s organization, and encourage closer cooperation with public institutions. At the same time, it creates opportunities for non-governmental organisations to strengthen their role in the field of cultural heritage, from co-creating policies and managing heritage to developing innovative approaches for its interpretation, preservation, and educational role.
