Second Life: Repair, Renovate, Create! (2024-2025)

In November 2024, the EkoFund project "Second Life: Repair, Renovate, Create" was launched in collaboration with the Idrija Youth Center, which promotes sustainable practices among young people and the broader community. The project emphasizes the importance of environmental issues in the field of youth work and cultural heritage, focusing on the problem of the increasing amount of discarded heritage items and bulk waste.

The project's goal is to promote the longer use, repair, renovation, and reuse of used items, addressing the problem of excessive waste disposal and encouraging systematic changes in our relationship with the environment. At the same time, the project aims to develop a long-term plan for establishing a Reuse Center in Idrija.

Key activities

  • Establishing a "repair café"
  • Establishment of a collection point for heritage furniture and objects
  • Organising 10 practical educational workshops
  • Equipping two public spaces with refurbished items

We want to bring sustainable practices closer to young people through workshops and in this way also strengthen the skills, perhaps forgotten, needed for repairing and renovating objects.

Join our campaign and give items a second life!
